Products with Greenlabel

Environmental issues have become one of the big challenges in this globalization era, resulted in the growing concerns to protect the mother earth. Participate in safeguarding the environment, Holcim Singapore places sustainable development on the priority in running our businesses.
We promote sustainable construction in Singapore through various product innovations with low carbon footprints and service excellence in thisdynamic market. We take pride to be recognized as being the first ready-mixed concrete company to have five of our products awarded with Green Label Singapore. Our green products are as follow:
Holcim Green and Holcim Green S
Holcim Green and Holcim Green S is concrete produced using recycled aggregate washed cooper slag (WCS) to replace the use of sand. WCS is an eco-friendly by-product from ship repairing industry and is processed to make it suitable for replacement of fine aggregates in both structural and non-structural concrete. BCA has allowed 100% of sand replacement for the non-structural use by Holcim Green, and 10% for structural use by Holcim Green S.
Holcim Green SL
Holcim Green SL is a green concrete produced with another eco-friendly product named Ground Granulated Blastfurnace Slag (GGBS), replacing the use of cement. It has denser microstructure of hydrated cement paste, most its pore space filled with calcium and silicate hydrate than in paste made solely with Portland cement only.
As a green concrete, Holcim SL that is produced with GGBS as cement replacement material contributes to a smaller carbon footprint by reducing CO2 emission to 45% than in normal concrete which positively affect the environment.
Holcim Supercrete HS
Holcim Supercrete is a high strength concrete with significantly higher strength than traditional concrete up to 60MPa. Supercrete HS is an ultra-high strength with a specified compressive strength of 65 MPa and above. Supercrete and Supercrete HS that significantly reduce the structural component size lead to the lesser use of concrete amount in its application. Hence, it increases the availability of space and economic value in high rise building and better architectural sense as well as visually lighter for all structures at the same time.
BCA Pillars on Safe Built Environment (2008)
Holcim Green FA
Holcim Green FA is a green concrete produced with another eco-friendly product named fly ash (FA), replacing the use of cement. The use of fly ash in concrete reduces the amount of non-durable calcium hydroxide (lime) and converts it in the process into calcium silicate hydrate (CSH), which is the strongest and most durable portion of the paste in concrete. Fly ash also makes substantial contributions to workability and chemical resistance.
Mechanically, fly ash pays dividends for concrete production because fly ash particles are small, they effectively fill voids. Fly ash particles are hard and round, they have a "ball bearing" effect that allows concrete to be produced using less water. Both characteristics contribute to enhanced concrete workability and durability.
